I was born in Newcastle, Wyoming.
I was introduced to the game of bowling when I was 10 yrs old, my high game that day was 16. I could not get the ball to stay on the lane and I was certain our lane was warped! Bowling was so exciting though, the lane was so long and narrow. The second time I bowled it was with my younger brother. I can’t remember the score but it did not matter, I had just beaten my brother! From that day on I was hooked!
Marshall Holman, David Ozzio, Brian Voss and Parker Bohn III were some of my most favorite players on tour growing up. These were the players I patterned my game after.
Randy Chism worked with me at age 29, helping me get to a different level, at a time when I was ready to quit the game I loved.
The lane became much shorter, the carry was remarkable and shooting anything was possible. That summer, in a Trio-League at Bowl-ero Lanes, I had shot four 1,000+ series in the four game set. The last 3 games of each of those sets were all over 800, something I had never shot before.
Randy had moved to Arizona and returned 17 years later.
Over that 17 year period, I had gotten married to my lovely wife Isabell. We have a son who is now 12 years old. She does not like bowling, so I try to only bowl in one league per year. Being in and out of the game unfortunately, my old instincts started working their way back into my game.
Since Randy’s return in 2009/10 I have been working to get back to the game I once had. I have enjoyed the journey and the scores are now returning as well.
Since 2009 both Randy and I have worked to develop a method to help teach this theory called 'Stroke and Roll', to those interested in growing their game. We hope in doing so; we will grow the passion for the game that it once had. We strive in assisting bowlers, to reach their true potential. It has been a blast!!!
I have been instructing both kids and adults using video, drills and the theory of 'Stroke and Roll' for the last 20+ years. Bronze Level Certified through USBC back in 2007 when I was the Youth Director for Bowl-ero Lanes, where I spent many of my years.
I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Don Campbell personally and grew in respect for him even more after Randy had started working with me.
Worked with a good number of Youth Programs along with a few High School Bowling Teams through the years: Wheat Ridge Farmers, Alameda Pirates, Lakewood Tigers.
Favorite Sports – Bowling, Basketball and Football, I loved to tackle, what a rush!!!
Favorite Book is the Bible – Ephesians is a great short read in the Bible, one of my favorites.
History is valuable and worth remembering!
